humans.txt – Who have contributed to building the website?
By searching a base template for a construct from HTML5 and CSS3 I appeared, how I find, very interesting project.
Behind the slogan “We are people, no machines” is an Initative, their destination it is, to inform about the people who have contributed to building websites.
Because it, according to project, not at all or only in short form is possible, to inform about web designer, web developer etc., is the insignificant however more extensive humans.txt file an excellently alternative.
As was to be supposed, aforesaid file is a simple text file, similarly the robots.txt (describes the desired behaviour of search robots). This contains for example entries about developer, web designer, copywriter, used tools (Software, CMS among other things) as well as thanks for used open source developments. There is a template with short instructions as well as various examples on the project page on humanstxt.org. Put the file in the main directory of the web project and place a reference to the file in the head of your HTML files. …and that’s all!
Domains with used humans.txt files can be entered on the project page. You will be recorded in their list.
Tools and more:
On humanssearch.com is a search engine which shows available humans.txt files after input of a domain.
For WordPress a plugin is available with which one you can create and integrate a humans.txt file simply in your backend.
A humans.txt module is available for Drupal.
Browser extensions with whose help you can recognise the available being humans.txt on a web page and have a look at this, are for Chrome and Firefox available.
Your opinion:
As at the beginning mentioned, I think this initiative is very interesting. What do you mean about it? Do you already use a humans.txt file?
Perhaps you comment on this article and post suitable projects!?
